Narrative
CIA agent Jo struggles to balance her personal and professional life as a spearhead in the agency’s war on terror. Real military advisors helped create more authentic weapon handling, housekeeping, positioning, team-based actions, etc. I had to write a review because the writing, acting and acting are so good! I’m a critic and movie/show watcher who approaches things from the “glass half full theory”. This means I look at the positive first and the negative second.
Great acting, dialogue and action!
I also like it or don’t like it. There is always a middle ground. “Lauvene” is not only far from average, it has everything! Zoe Saldana is sexy and beautiful, and like her boss, played by Nicole Kidman, both are tough women in espionage and the American military. Both are America’s defense against global terrorism.

It also works for the viewer that even though it’s a cable series (Paramount), it has a big movie budget. The production team does not waste your budget, it is a rational, practical and flawless execution of production value. As I mentioned in the title, it has all the excitement of “24” and “Columbiana”! Remember the TV show and movie? I don’t care about family problems and teenage drama.
Works well for me
As a parent, I understand. I kept thinking the terrorists were going to get to Joe’s (Zoe Saldana) family. (I hope not, but I can see it happening) Apparently I’m not done with the series yet. And I don’t need to finish it to write this analysis. “The Lioness” is so good and I highly recommend it.
My other critics of past classics and well-made movies/TV shows are obvious
This is one of the first reviews I did and I had no issues with the content. I haven’t checked it, but I really want the second season of "Lauvenei"!!!
