Narrative
CIA agent Joe tries to balance his personal and professional life as the spearhead of the agency’s war on terror. Real-life military advisors helped produce more authentic weapon handling, house cleaning, positioning, squad-specific activities, etc. Best new show, after Jack Ryan’s disappointing 4th season and lackluster performances all around, this felt much better in every way.
Great performance from everyone
It looks really well done and the action/fight scenes look great. I feel like most of the criticism of this show in the comments section seems to boil down to how unrealistic it is because of the whole female operator thing, and I, man, don’t care for a good action-driven show. women, which is an original IP that doesn’t change the male protagonist to a female protagonist.
I also haven’t seen any red flags so far, like every man looking incompetent or something
Also, at first I thought it was going to be more of an action-oriented, non-surprise series, but then they kind of delved into the family and I’m usually put off by that, but I didn’t like what they did there. . My only criticism is that the plot of this particular cast is very limiting to the story and can kill it during the plot/villain of the season…it needs to be more comprehensive so they can make the new Homeland more intense and fast paced, otherwise it might become too episodic like The Blacklist.
We’ll see what the mighty Morgan Freeman brings to the show
PS: So far, Nicole Kidman’s part has been incredibly small and uneventful and could have been done by anyone else… But from what I’ve seen so far, the show could stand on its own with Zaldana without any other A-listers. TLDR Cautiously optimistic overall, but I like what I’ve seen so far, everything is incredibly cool and well done.
