Narrative
Sheryl Bradshaw, a single woman looking for a suitor on a hit 1970s TV show, chooses charming bachelor Rodney Alcala, unaware that behind the man’s genteel facade, he hides a deadly secret. Some of Sheryl’s bad experiences as an aspiring actress mirror those of Anna Kendrick herself. The comment about Sheryl’s breasts is “taken verbatim from something that happened to me when I was 19.” Near the end of the film, her name is spelled Cheryl in one of the narrations revealing what happened after the film. In reality, her name is spelled Sheryl, which was correct on the cast list.

Really impressed with Anna Kendrick
I thought the acting and direction was excellent. The movie was very good. I just wish it was a little longer and had a few more twists. Some scenes were really awesome including the part where they show the dating game and the aftermath.
I would recommend watching this movie
I watched the movies today at TIFF and it seemed like everyone really enjoyed it despite the serious subject matter. It would have been great if there hadn’t been a strike and the actors could have participated today. One of the producers was there and read a note from Anna which was well received. The final season of “What We Do in the Shadows” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
