During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sportscasting crew is forced to cover a hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes. I’m really interested in getting out of here before the loan. They did a solid job of not telegraphing the plot points. Some might find it tedious to not change scenes, but I think it worked in this case. I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was their world and that they were there on that eventful day. They played up the political and emotional aspects well. It makes you think without preaching. The mix of footage from the actual event, including broadcast footage, is sure to draw you deeper into the experience. A nice touch. It’s not a film I plan to watch over and over again, but it’s a very well-made piece that I’d recommend to friends who enjoy this type of film.
